Oluwafemi is the Founder of Africa’s fast-rising Agric-tech and Sustainable Agriculture development Organization – MyFarmbase Africa where he advises the youth-led team on partnership, sustainability, business strategy and project development. The organization’s mission is to connect Agripreneurs and enthusiasts in Sub Saharan Africa to skills and global opportunities in the African Agribusiness ecosystem.
He co-manages Frontiers Agriculture Cooperative, a vibrant Agriculture cooperative with over 5000 members across Nigeria working directly with multiple banks and across Cassava, Maize and Rice Valuechains. In the same vein, he advises the board of Upsurge Global, a foundation focused on youth leadership and entrepreneurship development in Africa.
Prior to founding MyFarmbase Africa, Oluwafemi was on the global team of Welcome2Africa International, a London-based private sector company catalyzing innovative financing and investment for medium and large-scale Agribusinesses in Africa from Europe. His role as Communications and Marketing Executive led the company to be recognized by Oxford Business Group, Financial Nigeria and Guardian.
He has also served as operations and communications associate for Binkabi – a UK based blockchain based agricultural commodity trading and financing firm focused on low-trust emerging markets where he led operations and promoted the tripartite partnership between Sterling, Binkabi and AFEX Commodities Exchange with a targeted 10 billion naira financing for farmers.
He is currently a Business Development Consultant for CropIT, a precision agriculture company driving digitization of African Agribusiness with governments, private sector and financial institutions where he co-managed digital field operations with over 500 extension agents engaging over 500,000 farmers across the 36 states and FCT in Nigeria. He was also the client facing manager with deal closure of 100s of million Naira across multiple financial institutions.
He was a nominee of the 2018 Future Africa Awards, dubbed African Forbes Award and 2018 Ogun Youth Awards Prize for Agriculture. He is an Ashoka Changemakers fellow, an Agribusiness Valuechain Certificate Holder, Lagos Business School, a Common Purpose Global Leader, a two-times TEDx Speaker, an African Changemakers Fellow, a Young African Journal for Development Author at the African Union HQ and he holds a Soil Chemistry degree from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.
